Practical Nursing Application Process

Follow Steps 1-3 below to apply for the Practical Nursing program which begins in August at Kosciusko, Grenada, and Ridgeland:

Step 1–If you are not currently enrolled as a Holmes student (this semester), click on “Enroll Now” to complete a Holmes Community College online Admissions Application for fall (Grenada, Kosciusko, or Ridgeland), or spring (Grenada only), or summer (Ridgeland Evening and Weekend), choosing AA Health Sciences as your major. After applying to the college, you must return to “Enroll Now” and complete the orientation. Please note that successful completion of Step 1 denotes acceptance to the college, not acceptance of application to the PN Program.

Step 2–After you have been accepted to the college and know that your ACT score on file with Holmes meets the minimum requirement for the Practical Nursing Program* (click on View More under APPLICATIONS on the HCC website to see the Practical Nursing Program Admissions Requirements).  Click on the college portal, “MyHolmes,” and log in. Navigate to the “Academics/Career-Technical” icon at the top of the page and then go to the “Health-Related Applications” on the lower left-hand side of the page to access the Practical Nursing Full Time Day Track(August or January), Evening and Weekend Track, and the Practical Nursing Hybrid Option application. Click on Practical Nurse Application to apply for the PN Program.  To check the status of your application, click on PN Application Status.

Official verification of minimum ACT score(s) must be on file with Holmes prior to submission of the PN application.

*Please note that your application will not submit successfully unless official verification is on file with Holmes that you meet the minimum ACT requirement, regardless of your age.

Step 3–Submit necessary documentation—-official high school transcripts or GED scores —-to the following address by the application deadline.

Office of Admissions
Holmes Community College
PO Box 398
Goodman, MS 39079

* All that will be considered for selection after your application submits successfully will be official transcripts, ACT scores, and any copies of licenses submitted by April 30 for Full Time Day Track or October 15 for January Full Time Day Track.  If  your cumulative GPA is less than a 2.0 when the application closes, you will not progress in the selection process. If official transcripts are missing by the deadline, you will not progress in the program.

Submit verification (a copy) of any special current medical licensure—EMT Basic, EMT Paramedic, Surgical Tech, or CNA—to your campus of choice (your choice of attendance) by the application deadline.

Mail or deliver any verification of licensure to:
