Academic Programs

Earn an Associate of Arts degree (AA). The AA degree provides a basis of study for many programs.  To view these, click on Academic Programs above.

To earn the AA degree from Holmes Community College and ensure your transfer to a university in Mississippi, you must complete the designated general education core requirements of 35 academic hours and chosen electives of 27 academic hours for a total of 62 hours.

Students should obtain a copy of the catalog of the university to which he/she plans to transfer and use it as a guide in selecting courses.

Career/Technical Programs

If you are interested in a program that will prepare you for immediate entry into the workforce, you need to look at Career/Technical programs. If you need a program that can be completed in one or two years, you need to look at Career/Technical programs. If you learn best by doing, you need to look at Career/Technical programs.

If you want to pursue a career that offers competitive wages for positions that are in demand, you need to look at Career/Technical programs.

Career/Technical programs lead to an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree, Advanced Technical Certificate, Technical Certificate or a Career Certificate. Some of the Career/Technical programs at Holmes also offer transferability to baccalaureate programs.

Holmes offers Career/Technical courses and programs that are face2face, online and hybrid. Yes, through Holmes, you can earn some Career/Technical degrees in a totally online or hybrid format!
