The Holmes Community College Development Foundation seeks to provide a margin of excellence that tuition and tax support cannot offer. The Holmes CC Development Foundation, a separate not-for-profit IRS approved 501(c)(3) corporation, essentially functions as an endowment foundation and expends fund for the benefit of the college according to the wishes of the donor. Approximately 20 community leaders from throughout the district give generously of their time, talent and resources to support Holmes Community College and its students by serving on the Board of Directors.
Endowment funds are invested by the Development Foundation utilizing a strategy that seeks to provide maximum return, while enhancing growth and maintaining a prudent degree of risk. The funds are professionally managed and invested in a diverse portfolio that will provide predictable income and appreciation of the capital, while factoring in inflation.
Earnings from the endowment are awarded to the college to support scholarships and to provide for instructional equipment, library resources, faculty development, and other activities that enhance the instructional program of the college.
