Homecoming 2018 is set for Oct. 20

Homecoming 2018 is set for Saturday, Oct. 20 on the Goodman Campus with activities starting at 9:30 a.m. and lasting until the end of the football game against Mississippi Delta Community College.

Homecoming at Holmes CCHonorees for 2018 include: Alumnus of the Year, Frank Shaw; Distinguished Service Award, Danny Chandler; Young Alumnus of the Year, Lily Fran McCrory; and Veteran of the Year, Jack Holmes.

Activities start Monday, Oct. 15 with the North Division soccer match vs. Northwest at Freedom Ridge Park at 1/3 p.m. The sophomores will be recognized.

On Oct. 20, Homecoming festivities get kicked off at 9:30 a.m. with a softball alumni Game and the Holmes Connection! brunch "Celebrating 25 Years" in the Fine Arts Lobby.

A baseball inter-squad game is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. and a basketball scrimmage will begin at 11 a.m. The honorees will be recognized in McDaniel Auditorium at 11 a.m. with a performance from the Coachmen and the Holmes Connection! at 11:30 a.m. The art department will be open at 11 a.m. for tours.

The mid-day activities include: lunch in the Grove, a little Bulldog Zone, a performance by the Steel Band and a gathering of Coachman and Choral Alumni in the Chapel on the Hill. A choral performance is set for 12:45 p.m. in the Chapel on the Hill followed by an Alumni Association meeting in the CCN Room of McMorrough Library at 1 p.m.

The annual parade (featuring the Homecoming Maids, honorees, cheerleaders and band members) begins at Cook Dorm at 1:30 p.m. At 2 p.m. a pep rally will be held in the parking lot near Carroll Cafeteria. After the parade, the Holmes Community College Marching Band will enter the stadium and the honorees will be recognized at 2:45 p.m. prior to the kickoff with Mississippi Delta at 3 p.m. The Holmes Chorale will perform the national anthem prior to kickoff and the presentation of the Homecoming Court is set for halftime.

McMorrough Library will be open to all guest if you need to a cool place to sit. Also, the lobby of Grenada Hall and the Lorance Student Center will be open for our SEC football fans.
