Holmes Community College Workforce Development in conjunction with the Mississippi Chapter for the Association of Talent Development (ATD) will host a workshop, "Working Together Wins" in the Holmes McGowan Workforce Training Center on Thursday, June 9, from 9:30 a.m.-2:45 p.m.

The workshop, which serves as the Mississippi Chapter of ATD's 7th Annual Statewide symposium, will feature keynote speaker Julie Laperouse, founder of Screaming Peacock (a speaking and training company), author of "Are you a Screaming Peacock?" and director of training for the Baton Rouge-based consulting firm Emergent Method.

This workshop will touch on the art of communicating with others in the most collaborative manner, whether one is trying to make a networking connection or build a stellar internal team.

Participants will take away from this workshop the skills of: understanding various personality types and their preferred communication styles; identifying key networking connections' preferences and personality style through their outgoing communication; presenting oneself in the most professional, memorable light to potential contacts; using emotional intelligence and the art of asking questions to find points of commonality with any professional contact, and appreciating strengths and weaknesses of all team members to create synergy within any team.

The workshop costs $25 for ATD members and $30 for non-members. The fee includes lunch.
