The Holmes Community College Police Department is dedicated to providing a safe and secure campus environment. Our officers are committed to the safety and well-being of the college’s students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The officers are responsible for the enforcement of all state and local laws and any rules made by the college. Campus Police officers work closely with the Dean of Students office to ensure that safety policies and procedures are uniformly executed and conveyed in a clear and consistent manner. The Campus Police Department shares your concern for safety, and they are ready to serve you 24 hours a day throughout the year.

Our Officers and Their Training

Campus security is provided by a College-employed staff of Police Officers supplemented with contract security officers. Police officers are certified by the State of Mississippi Board on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Training. Our officers are sworn Peace officers that are vested with power to make arrests and carry firearms. Campus Police officers receive basic law enforcement training at the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers` Training Academy and all officers receive continuous in-service training in law enforcement. Security officers, although without police power, are able to enforce College rules and regulations. All officers are in constant radio communication with each other as well as direct communication with other police agencies. All vehicles are marked to ensure visibility while patrolling the campus.
