The Fine Arts Department Visual Arts Division began in 1998 and is a fairly new division of the fine arts, offering various degrees in the discipline of art, with university-parallel programs of study in art. The division is able to serve every Holmes Community College student through academic courses.
The Fine Arts Department Visual Arts Division is proud of its distinguished history of education, cultural leadership, and proven excellence in the visual arts. Enrollment has steadily increased in the various areas of art instruction. The semester art exhibitions are a favorite cultural event on campus for the community and serve as a vital recruitment tool. Participation in other local events provide exposure and exhibition experience for students, such as the annual events like the President’s Home exhibit, Homecoming Open House, Side Walk Café, Natchez Trace Festival, Make-a-Wish Foundation Fundraisers, Hearts for Arts, and the Mississippi Community and Junior College Student Art Competition.
