The students in the OTA Program have an opportunity to join the Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA). SOTA is a nonprofit, community service based organization designed to generate service, interest, and awareness to the community while striving to promote unity within the field of Occupational Therapy. The organization is a subsidiary of the state professional organization, MSOTA (Mississippi Occupational Therapy Association). SOTA is an outstanding organization that allows member to give back to the community along with the opportunity for members to gain skills needed for their future careers as COTA's (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants).

Students raise funds for the children of Blair E. Batson Hospital, give to the children at Sunnybrook Children's Home during Christmas, participate in a 5K walk-a-thon for the MILES traumatic brain injury organization, and raise money for the SOTA organization through raffles held at Holmes Community College. SOTA will be educating various professionals within the community regarding the importance of ergonomics in their daily lives. This group meets at Ridgeland Hall Room 110.
