Financial Aid & Scholarships - Work-Study
What is work-study? The work-study program provides jobs for students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to your major course of study.
How much will I make? Your work-study wages will be at least the current federal minimum wage. Your total work-study award depends on when you apply, your level of need, and the funding level of the school.
How will I be paid? You will be paid by the hour. The school will pay you directly at least once a month.
Can I work as many hours as I want? No. The amount you earn cannot exceed your total work-study award. When assigning work hours, the Financial Aid Office will consider your class schedule and your academic progress.
How do I apply for work-study? You must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. You must also complete an application for work study. You can obtain a college work-study information form by contacting the address at the bottom of this page. Be sure to complete and return the application by the April 1 priority deadline date. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
The priority deadline for the work-study program is June 1. This means that those students who have all of their paperwork complete (FAFSA and Work-Study Application) and on file by this date will receive first consideration of available positions.
