The Academic Dean of the member schools of the MSVCC passed the following rules in regards to withdrawing from MSVCC courses:
- The student may withdraw up to the 75% mark of the MSVCC term with a W. To see the specific date, go to the MSVCC site and click on the calendar option on the left side of the page.
- After that date, the MSVCC schools follow their own policy. Holmes students must adhere to the following policy: A student who finds it necessary to withdraw (drop) from a course will be allowed to withdraw (drop) with a W through 75% of the semester. After the 75% mark, students will NOT be allowed to initiate a withdrawal (drop). Students who are administratively withdrawn after the specified withdrawal date must be passing the course to receive a W. Otherwise, students will receive an F for the course.
- Procedures for withdrawing from an online course before the 75% mark.
- All Holmes students must contact their instructor and have the instructor submit the following information:
- Student Name
- Student H-number
- Course Name, Prefix, Number, & Section
- LDA
- If they are a Holmes instructor, they will complete a Holmes withdrawal form provided for them in the Faculty Resources area of the Distance learning web site.
- If it is in an instructor from another college, they must email the information to their own distance learner coordinator who will then email it to hguest@holmescc.edu.
- To confirm your withdrawal, go to your Student Profile and check the student status for that course.
- After the 75% mark, students will NOT be allowed to initiate a withdrawal (drop). Students who are administratively withdrawn after the specified withdrawal date must be passing the course to receive a W. Otherwise, students will receive an F for the course.
