Student Responsibilities
- Successfully complete interview with employer and meet all work requirements
- Sign Education/Training Agreement
- Perform in full or part-time job which provides structured work-site learning experiences
- Remain in good standing in school and on the job
- Conform to work-training schedule
- Participate in regular progress reviews
- Complete requirements form, assignments and projects assigned by the WBL Coordinator
Criteria for Enrollment and Participation in WBL
To be eligible for participation in the Work-Based Learning program, students must:
- Be a Career/Technical major
- Have recommendation from an instructor
- Submit an application for WBL
- Be in good standing with the college
- Show acceptable academic performance
To remain in the WBL program, a student must:
- Remain in good standing with the college
- Maintain acceptable academic performance
- Meet any job-related requirements set by participating employers
- Meet attendance requirements set by the school and the job attendance set by the employer
- Attain the required skill competencies at an acceptable level as outlines in Education/Employment Agreement
- Meet with the Work-Based Learning Coordinator periodically in order to maintain a student folder with completed activities for the semester
- Meet with the mentor, the instructor/advisor, and the Work-Based Learning Coordinator to review progress
- Complete all class assignments for WBL as assigned by the WBL Coordinator
