The Emergency Medical Technology (EMT) Department offers two areas of concentration. The first, EMT - Basic, leads to a certificate of completion and the second, EMT - Paramedic, leads to an Associate of Applied Science degree. Both options are offered on the Grenada and Ridgeland campuses.
Mission Statement: The Holmes Community College EMT Paramedic program is designed to develop competent, ethical, and professional entry level EMT Paramedics to act as pioneers for the profession in today's dynamic health care environment. The program will provide academic and clinical opportunities for students to achieve competencies in written and oral communications, to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the EMT Paramedic approach to patient treatment, to implement effective treatment for clients throughout the life span, and to participate in the management of EMT Paramedic services.
The EMT Department is a fully approved American Heart Association Training Center and is autorized to provide al courses in BCLS - CPR, ACLS, PALS and First Aid.
The EMT Department also offers Continuing Education Courses for all levels of Prehospital Providers.
