The Associate Degree Nursing Program offers a curriculum for those seeking an ADN degree and to qualify to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses as well as licensing from the state board of nursing. The program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (www.nlnac.org) and the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning of Mississippi (www.ihl.state.ms.us).
Important Note: Applicants must have a Holmes ID number before they can complete the Nursing Application! Holmes ID numbers are issued by the records office upon submission of the Holmes General Admission application. Mission Statement: The purpose of the Holmes Community College Associate Degree Nursing Program is two-fold:
- To prepare registered nurse generalists who have attained competency. Competency is identified as a performance standard, which includes knowledge, abilities, and understanding that goes beyond specific tasks and is guided by commitment to ethical and scientific principles of nursing practice.
- To provide equal access to higher education for traditional and non-traditional students while promoting excellence in all areas of nursing.
