The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, staffed with a qualified and experienced faculty, endeavors to meet the needs of students and the community in mathematics and computer science. The programs of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science are consistent and comparable with the major four-year colleges and universities throughout the state, offering a seamless, successful transfer to these other institutions after completion of the two-year curriculum.

Mission Statement: The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Holmes Community College has a mission to provide all students with an understanding of the logical structure and style of mathematics and computer science appropriate to their discipline and level. The faculty will provide students with the necessary background to pursue a meaningful career in their perspective fields upon university transfer, professional school acceptance, or workforce entry. Students will engage in various opportunities to develop critical thinking skills and to nurture an appreciation for mathematics and computer science.
