The language department at Holmes is both comprehensive and varied as we offer courses ranging from reading and writing to foreign language and creative writing. Our program affords opportunities for students to receive a strong academic foundation and to cultivate their critical and expressive voices.

Mission Statement: The language department is staffed by highly qualified faculty whose goal is to provide language and reading proficiency by offering courses in composition, literature, creative writing, reading, and foreign language. The language and reading program is designed to prepare students for university transfer and/or productive employment.
