The Ethel High School graduate and Attala County native made his mark in two sports at Holmes Community College –men’s basketball and track. He made All-State in basketball after his sophomore season in 1974. He was a member of the MACJC state championship track team in 1973 and was state champion in the mile run his sophomore season. He was named Most Athletic at Holmes in 1974.
After Holmes, Casey attended Millsaps College, where he lettered in basketball two years and was chosen most valuable player in 1976 and 1977. Casey graduated from Mississippi State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Math Education.
Casey’s first coaching job was at Durant High School, where he coached men’s and women’s basketball. While at Durant, he was E.C.A.C. Coach of the Year four times. Then Casey went to Saks High School in Anniston, Ala., where he coached boys’ basketball for three years. He was Anniston Star/Calhoun County Coach of the Year in 1989.
Switching sports, he then coached football at his alma mater, Ethel High School. Following his tenure at Ethel, it was on to Union High School, where he coached men’s basketball and fast-pitch softball. In 2003, he was named the Mississippi Association of Coaches All-Star Coach in softball.
Casey’s wife, the former Wanda Crowder of Durant, attended Holmes in 1975. The Casey’s have three adult children, Scott, Emily and Jacob.
Mandy Clark, Assistant Coach

A former student and softball player at Holmes, Mandy Clark returns to her alma mater to assume the position of assistant softball coach. She will also teach first aid and CPR this fall semester. Clark comes to Holmes from Terry High School where she was the head fast pitch coach and taught Algebra.
In addition to her associate degree in physical education at Holmes, she has a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Ole Miss and a master’s degree in sports coaching from the U.S. Sports Academy.
Prior to Holmes, Clark served as head coach at Terry High School, where she accumulated a record of 13-14 in one season there. Before Terry, she was head coach at South Panola High School for two seasons, 2003-2005, where she went 9-12 in 2003-2004 and 17-9 in 2004-2005. She was head coach at South Pontotoc High School for two season before that, 2001-2003. She went 8-13 in 2001-2002 and 11-10 in 2002-2003.
Calling Jackson, Miss. home, she enjoys shopping, movies, traveling, reading, and anything related to sports.
